Hazlina’s Double

Hazlina’s Double
Hazlina’s was actually my secretary when we were working for a large local company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is undoubtedly one of the sweetest, most patience and nicest girl I that ever met (except for my wife ha! ha!). At that time, Hazlina was only about 25 year old when strange and eerie incidents occurred then. She was still staying then in semi-rural in an old wooden in Tanjung Malim, a district of Selangor, with her grandmother together with her elder brother’s family. Her brother and his wife have 4 kids aged between 6 years to 12 years then.

Hazlina’s Grandmother old house in Selangor

Friends and relatives at her old house in Tanjung Malim reported of seeing Hazlina  – who looks exactly looks like her but is not her, and always and mostly when Hazlina is away.
One of the earliest incidents involved the four kids, Hazlina’s nephew and the 3 nieces, when they were playing in the courtyard after dinner and were reluctant to go back for their baths. The constant and angry dressing-down and scolding’s from both the mother and grandmother but were virtually useless as the kids were having too much old fashioned fun with their hide and seek games. The children then noticed that their Aunty Hazlina’s were waiting impatiently and standing and peering at them at the end of the courtyard. Hazlina were carrying a big stick on one of her hand and beating on her palm on the other hand and staring silently at the kids. The children were a bit surprised at Aunt Hazlina’s behavior and mood as Hazlina was normally so patient and so easy going. However the kids reluctantly and silently stop their game and went back to the house and to their baths. When the kids were done, one of the eldest daughter asked her mother, where is Aunt Hazlina. Her mother was puzzled by her question and curtly shook her head, “You know your Aunt Hazlina is working and will be back later”.  The children however insisted that Aunt Hazlina was already back and was actually looking at them in the courtyard. Instead they got a thrashing from their weary and tired mother for making up that story. The frantic grandmother had to fend for her grandchildren.
In another incident, Hazlina’s grandmother got back from market and wearily trudging her vegetables and food stuffs back to her home. She noticed that Hazlina was smiling and looking at her in their front living room. “Oh my god!..she should be at work, is she sick!” Hazlina’s grandmother exclaimed and waved at Hazlina to help her with the vegetables. When Hazlina did not help with her stuff she wearily climbed her wooden stairs…and Hazlina’s was not there…nobody was around. Hazlina’s brother was working, his wife was busy in the kitchen cooking and the kids were in school. Later they found Hazlina’s was at work at that time.
Another incident occurred when Hazlina and her boyfriend (now happily married) drove back home to at Hazlina’s house at Tanjung Malim, after office in Kuala Lumpur and after a dinner. When Hazlina’s boyfriend has parked his car at the house he was excited and grabbed a pocketful of sweets as he expected that the kids to be looking out at the windows impatiently at their front porch for their rewards. Instead he got a surprised of his life when he saw looking out from the house and smiling sweetly at him was Hazlina – or be correct someone who looked exactly like Hazlina, an exact duplicate! With his mouth wide opened, he quickly turned to look at Hazlina only to find her eyes wide opened in total disbelief looking at her double.
When they rushed into the house, they did not find Halina’s double and instead they found the rest of the family in the kitchen happily eating durians (translate: a succulent creamy fruit but often describe as “stinky”).
There were several instances of meeting Hazlina’s double but since her marriage there no cases of her double ….so far!

Hauntings at Genting Highlands – Real or Imaginary?

Hauntings at Genting Highlands – Real or Imaginary?
There have been many so-called personal life-accounts of peoples’ experiences of haunting and eerie spooky tales but also there are those stringent non-believers that do not believe in hauntings, apparitions, ghosts and so on. So who is right, the believers or non-believers.
The group of hotels, theme parks and arcade have made famous or infamous in Genting Highlands Resort as the “City of Entertainment “. With their Indoor and Outdoor theme parks, restaurants, disco, and the Arena Stars which feature a galaxy of world class entertainers to their crown jewel, the Casino de Genting – the only casino in Malaysia.

Genting Highlands Resort
I have come across many people who some believe that these is regarded as the most haunted place in Malaysia. At the same time I have also encountered those who believe that all these are simply not true and hog-washed. Actually there are those fall in the third category, those that believe ghosts exist but believe that people should not be afraid of them and basically  leave them alone.
The ardent believers are people who actually encountered and take the trouble to write or tell about their true account of their experiences. On the other hand, the disbelievers have their own stories about how nothing happened during trips to Genting Highlands so it is not true that it is not haunted!
I would like to humbly advise for those disbelievers that they do not have unnatural or spooky encounters to realized how lucky they are. They fall into the category of people who are strong, calm but should not at the same time to be so sure of everything in their lives or making decisions only based on their only their experiences and expect that expect everybody do like them. Most people fall between between the highs and lows emotionally and spiritually, and some of they are fortunate to be of the “high” ones. Unlike the “weaker” ones who might be feeling depressed, down and out, sad or even suicidal.

Foggy Day at Genting Highlands
Someone has described there is God so there must be Ghosts and if you do not like to be disturbed you must be respectful of other spirits. That person believes that spirits will trouble ordinary people describing them as “indirect” approached.
I have met an older couple who was sleeping one night at Ria Apartments, when the husband suddenly woke up. The old lady said to her husband to get back to bed. However the old man got out of bed and went directly to bedroom window and was miraculously pulled back by his startled wife. When asked by his wife what he was doing, the man can only managed to say a woman spirit do it. He was brainwashed, mesmerized or Malaysians called “blur blur”. Was the man easily influence by the woman ghost and was he considered to have “low” spiritual? I leave it up to the individual to decide.

I have been asked many times whether I do believe in ghosts, spirits, apparitions… I do but as a friend was said, “the biggest devils are politicians…joking-lah”.

T-Junction Spooky Incident

T-Junction Spooky Incident
When Jeremiah Johnson married with Mindy Johnson-Lee they moved to a house which have a  T-junction in Shah Alam. Although the couple loved the place, Mindy’s mother had absolutely nothing good to say about that place. The T-junction house supposedly create negative energies and is really bad for all occupants.
There were a number of car accidents where people were hurt due to careless or even drunk drivers over the people but fortunately no one died. There were also people who suffered from snatch thieves while they were around the T-Junction.
Mindy’s mother who is from Johor regularly visit and stay with the couple whenever she is in town. She adores her granddaughter, Debbie, and spent a lot of time with each other. One evening, the couple was at work and Debbie had to take part in activities and Mindy’s mother was alone.

A Drawing of a T-Junction

So Mindy’s mother took a walk in the neighbourhood while waiting for Debbie to be back from her activities. Mindy’s mother was coming back after her walk and close to their T-Junction house when she was suddenly violently knocked behind. She was flung to the end of the road and desperately looking up she saw a white car and an old Chinese man with a beard. The old man looked at her and he smiled before driving off. The scene was so unreal and ridiculous that she could not imagine as she tried to sit up.
Two older aunties (housewives) who were walking together quickly came to her aid. The first aunty asked, “What happened, are you alright…why were did flung off by yourself?”  Before she could answer, the second housewife said, “What are you saying, she was hit by a black car…an Indian man in blue shirt…in fact, he was gesturing with his middle finger..”  Whoa! Mindy’s mother was astounded by the different version, including her own, and can only asked what is going on.
Mandy’s mother was surprised that she was not hurt…no fractures, no injuries…nothing at all, not even a bruise. She got up surprised that she was not hurt and hurriedly went back slowly  to her house.
Jeremiah was really upset when he heard about the spooky accident and his mother-in-law. They bought another house in another neighborhood shortly after that.
