The special ties and bonds that grandparents have for their grandchildren are probably one of the greatest cherish relationship of all. I have for you 2 very special, touching but eerie stories about grandmas when they have passed away.

Pearl was only about 7 years old (mid 1970s) at that time and her grandma was coming from Terengganu in two weeks’ time for Pearl’s birthday. However shortly before Pearl’s grandma can make the trip to Malacca, she passed away suddenly but peacefully.

Pearl’s parents had to rushed down to Terengganu to prepare for Pearl’s grandma funeral. Pearl was not allowed to go because she had to go to school and maybe Pearl’s parents did not want Pearl to face heartbreak of her grandma’s funeral.

After Pearl’s parents got back from the funeral, they noticed that Pearl was still distressed about her grandmother’s sudden death. Pearl had not wanted a birthday party that year but her parents persuaded her to have a small celebration in their house.

That night after the celebration, after presents from her family, she walked to the living room when the old dialing phone (or rotary phone) started to ring continuously. Pearl tried to look for her parents but realized they were at the back in the kitchen.

Baldish woke up shivering in cold sweat, she just saw her dead sister in her dream and she said their father is going to die. Stricken with fear as it seemed so real woke up her husband and quickly related her story to him.

 Early the next morning, Baldish called her father and was relieved to find him well and fine. Baldish was so relieved ans told her father that she and her family were going to his hometown of Jerantut in the state of Pahang the next weekend for a visit.

Two days after the telephone conversation with her father, Baldish was informed by one of her uncles that her father had unexpectedly passed away that morning!

Millions of Malaysians from all walks of life have encountered unexpected experiences in the world of the supernatural. I will share two strange and spine chilling stories of such experiences in their normal everyday life.

Teoh work as a vegetable seller at a wet market and his wife is a clerk at a company. Teoh’s father-in-law was in a hospital and was advised by the doctors to bring him better be brought home. They said that due to the serious sickness he would rather be home when he passes away.

When Teoh got back from work he cooked plain porridge for his father-in-law and waited for him to wake up. His wife, Sooi Ling, had to work late that night as she had some work to finish up.

Teoh sat on a plastic chair while waiting for his father-in-law to wake up to eat his porridge. While waiting, Teoh almost dozed off when he saw the old man was up and he was talking to someone – but there was no one there except for Teoh. The old man was excited and he raised his hand as if he was taking and eating porridge, all the time he was busy chit chatting with someone.

After a while, Teoh’s father-in-law closed his eyes and went finally went back to his bed. Teoh was a bit puzzled but did not think too much of it. They found out the next day that the old man passed away. Teoh often wondered whether his father-in-law saw something or someone that night.

Mrs Lai have many remarkable happy, sad and eerie stories about living in the 1960s in a Chinese New Village in Tanjung Malim, Selangor. 

Her parents were rubber tappers and she lived with 4 other siblings in New Village at Tanjung Malim in Selangor. The like other people they were extremely poor but live a blissful life of swimming in rivers, climbing trees and stealing fruits for the kids at that time.

An incident happened when she was about 10 - 11 years old a long time ago, when she was with her brother and they were walking back to their home. It was late evening at the time and they were rushing back as their mother would give them hell for coming back so late.

Walking in the gravel road they saw three people (she guess it must be a father, wife and a young boy) walking behind them. When they were slightly surprised when the family suddenly walked in a small footpath filled with over grown lalangs (long coarse weeds) away from the gravel road. She did want to be a ‘kaypoh’ (busybody) so did say anything but hurriedly along the narrow road.

As they walked past the family in different direction they noticed something odd about their walk. As if they slightly were like gliding among the tall lalangs. As they were busy walking they casually looked again at the family which was much further away they suddenly realize the reasons the difference of walking. The family, the father, mother and the young boy, did not have legs!..... She looked at her brother shocked and in disbelief…screaming and blabbering they took off for their lives and both of them ran all the way back to their house.
