Supernatural Tales from Taiwan & Malaysia

Two stories about supernatural or paranormal experiences from both Taiwan & Malaysia. In Taiwan a youth claims his BFF (best friend forever) is a ghost. For Malaysia a young girl claims to talk with her with her deceased grandmother.

Taiwan

14 year old, Kenny is the only child and stays with his parents in the capital Taipei in Taiwan. His parents were having problems in their relationship and to add to that, Kenny has started mixing with the wrong crowd.

Desperate for a solution and as it was during school holidays, his parents decided that he should go Mrs Wu who lives in the small town in province of Yilan. Kenny’s mother is the sister of Mrs Wu who is widow and lives with her son Victor. Kenny who thinks that 12 year old Victor with thick glasses is a nerdy brat who proudly inform everyone that his best friend is a ghost!

One day Victor volunteered to pick up the prepared food for dinner from a lady as Mrs Wu had to the 2^nd shift at work. As Kenny walked back to the apartment he noticed that the TV was loudly blaring away and he heard Victor was happily chatting by himself.

Putting the food away, a totally fed-up Kenny walked to the living room to confront Victor. When he reached the room, Victor was at side facing yapping with the TV facing directly. Kenny stopped absolutely shock ..the empty rocking chair beside Victor … was gently rocking away by itself!!!

Incredible coincidence or was it a mischievous spirit…or even an evil spirit? These are 2 different incidents about their spooky experience.

Elsa and her team flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to take part in a book exhibition at PWTC (Putra World Trade Center). The next day, Elsa’s colleague and hotel mate, has to leave for Singapore as her baby boy taken ill and have to be hospitalized.

Elsa was resting on the bed that night, reading the extra notes about the event as her friend has left for home. Elsa was feeling drowsy and extremely sleepy as she tried to continue reading. The lights in the bedroom was cozy and dimmed as Elsa finally decided to sleep she switched off the reading light bedside her bed…she was startled to find a man’s hand (but only the hand up to the elbow) moving to turn off the reading light by her bed! She let out a sharp gasp…Holy Shit! .... rustling and whirling to the other edge of her bed…as she hurriedly and wildly looked back at the reading light but this time she did not see the man’s fingers and hand. Feeling tired and stupid, she thought foolishly to herself that it was just a figment of her overwork imagination.

Elsa woke up the next morning and together with her other colleagues after the breakfast hotel buffet rushed to prepare for the events at PWTC for that day. Later in the morning, when it was less busy with customers, she checked her smartphone, only to find there was a photo taken by her smartphone…..a photo of her sleeping in the hotel bedroom!

Shocked!…who could have taken the photo of her especially since her colleague already left to go back to Singapore the night before….

Tara Tsai from Hong Kong met up with her old friend, Kylie, for lunch to chit-chat about their lives from the old days when they were school. After lunch, Kylie was insistent that she show Tara the photos in her apartment.

An old woman was surprised at the sound of mysterious crying at their flat….

Desa Rejang consists of several blocks of low-cost flats owned by City Hall of Kuala Lumpur in Setapak and completed in 2008. Present residents are from Pekililing and Sentul low-cost flats which were demolished to make way for more ‘lucrative’ developments.

Madam Ting lives with her husband in an upper unit there, now that her children are married and lived with their own families in their suburbs. One of the neighbours, Chu Yoke, her mother and her brother live just beside the Tings. Chu Yoke, a mid-30s, used to work as a helper for a poultry market stall nearby. Madam Ting knows the whole family but not so well as they were neighbours even in their previous flats.

Chu Yoke’s mother died a couple of years ago and Chu Yoke seemed to take her mother’s death very badly. She lost her job and she spent her time inside their flat. Madam Ting and other neighbours used to bring her some simple food (left on her doorstep}.

One day Madam Ting overheard Chu Yoke’s brother shouting and complaining at Chu Yoke for taking the neighbours food. Chu Yoke countered that she has no food to eat and her brother was not around much. After the angry spat between her brother and Chu Yoke, she refused the little food from the neighbours and simply locked herself in the little flat.

One night, Madam Ting was washing the dishes in the small adjacent kitchen (which was beside Chu Yoke’s flat) when she heard loud crying and mourning sound (as if someone was crying). There was also a strong smell of rotting food or maybe a dead rat in block in the flat. She quickly got out of their unit and looked around the neighbours’ flats. Then she looked at Chu Yoke’s flat with the window and door firmly which were closed shut with the food left in her door. Yet she was quiet sure that it was probably Chu Yoke crying.

Madam Ting’s husband got out of the flat and angrily ushered Madam Ting back into their unit asking her not to be so busy-body or nosey. Madam Ting’s husband then firmly shut the window and the front door of their flat.

The two spookiest jobs are arguably the police and the mortuary because of deaths and because it sometimes involve the ghostly paranormal activities of the unknowns. This involves incident about a mortuary and the police.

Sheila is student living from India when we were students living in the United States. We used to organize dinners living in the dormitories. During our chats about practically everything, she mentioned that she never saw any strange happenings while living in India. However she received disturbing news about an uncle (her mother’s elder brother) who is a doctor works at a mortuary in a Government hospital.

Sheila’s uncle was conduction a post mortem on a teenage girl who was badly mangled during a car accident. His uncle’s medical assistant had moved to the other room temporary and he was looking at some papers when at the corner of his eyes saw the corpse moving.

In a split second he rapidly faced the direction of the corpse and found the mangled body was sitting face up and she was staring at him and she was smiling! The cries from Sheila’s uncle attracted the medical assistant where he found the doctor shivering on the floor. He did not find anything unusual, as the corpse was lying on the table.

The second incident was when Shukri was called to a car incident in the night. Shukri is a traffic policeman and he was called to an accident in the outskirt of Kuantan in Pahang.

It must be nearly a decade ago when I first read about the Asian tsunami that brought the devastating waves which swept certain regions across Asia. Stories poured from the media and the internet from eyewitnesses who actually saw or heard from the dead people of this truly tragic incident.

On that day, 26^th of December 2004, thousands throughout Asia lost their lives when angry and furious waves swept the coastal region in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Malaysia etc. On that fateful day without warning over two hundred thousand lives were lost as huge tidal waves raced and trashed the coastal areas in the region.

In Malaysia, over 60 people lost their lives especially in the island of Penang and eye witnessed saw some disturbing apparitions.  Some people say that ghosts are not angry but merely confused and they cannot move to other world. They just wandered restlessly in this earth.

 In neighboring Thailand, especially in the Andaman coast, there are reports of tales about haunted beaches, liked people playing on the beach in the nights and of moaning and crying “people” when there was nobody there.

I heard this story from a friend who visited Thailand a few years ago. Rose Leong was with her husband for a holiday at a Thai beach resort.  When they check into the hotel they met with a young receptionist who was extremely friendly. A few days later Rose was told by the staff of the hotel that the young receptionist no longer works there.

An old family house brings many back many happy memories but at the same time also many strange and weird incidents.

Termeloh is the 2^nd largest largest town after Kuantan in the state of Pahang. 15 year old Aida lives with her parents and 4 brothers and sisters in the outskirt of Termeloh. They lived in an old bungalow Malay house together with their 2 cats and 6 chickens.

Aida was washing the dishes alone after their dinner (as their mother was not feeling well and decided to rest) in their kitchen. The kitchen was located in the lower back portion of their house and she was standing looking directly at the window when she saw little Dina (her youngest sister at 5) creeping past the window. Slightly puzzled, Aida called after Dina from the window but there was no reply. Aida went to the back door to looked for Dina (as her little was not allowed to play in the compound especially at night) as Aida reached round the compound she noticed Dina was partially hiding in front of a thick bush. Aida scolded her sister at the same time fumbled with her spectacles as it was in her pocket. 

When she finally managed to get her glasses on she little Dina was not there. Getting a bit annoyed Aida searched the entire compound before entering the living room again, only to find her sibling and her father watching TV. Little Dina was lying on the couch happily playing with Pokeman. She glared at her brothers and said they were supposed to take care of Dina and let her go to the compound herself. Her brothers were a bit dazed and confused and one of them said Dina was in the living room with them!

Shocking revelation that one of the most prestigious and iconic Majestic Hotel in Malaysia is really haunted?

The historic Majestic Hotel is set on Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin opposite of the old railway (KTM) station at the heart of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Nestled closed by is the famous and renowned Golden Triangle and is just about 10 minutes by car.

The original hotel was built in 1932 and during their heyday was filled with glamorous events, government receptions and was the residences of many prominent British colonials. However the building was abandoned and closed down in 1984 before it was renovated by YTL Corporation Berhad as a Luxury Classic Hotel.

Gone are the bygone days when the hotel was used by the Japanese military during 1939 until 1945 war as a transit camp. In fact, the old railway (KTM) station, with the rail lines moving to the south, Singapore, there are people who remembered that strange and unknown people were walking at nights in that place! During the World War 2 the Japanese army brutally executed many people at that place.

Some people have claimed that evil spirits, devils, malicious deities, imps and even negative black energies can and will caused them to be affected. These symbols in the form of amulets, photos, demonic dolls etc. which represent the dark forces similarly affects the people.

Melvin and Kate Chew are happily married with three kids lived in the suburbs in Malaysia. Melvin over the year has been increasing obsessive with paranormal and supernatural stuff which drastically affected his life with his family and his job.

Increasing violent fights with his wife who finally left her husband and taking her children to live with her parents. Frustrated and tired of the constant fighting and missing his wife and kids, he finally resorted to get help from the church. Melvin looked extremely pale with the skin on his face was dry and his lips were cracked.

The pastor and some church members resorted to go to his house and remove the statues of the deities, amulets and his magazine, newspapers cuttings. Then the church group cleaned the entire house, with brooms and mops and finally removed the heavy curtains from the windows.

Sensitive and Angry Ghost

There is a saying that people must be careful and be sensitivity do what you say or do to the supernatural entities. My late grandmother had a saying that, when we were kids, it is important to ask for permission being simply peeing etc. away especially when outdoors (like most kids…even adults, anywhere is good enough yeah!).

Ira was travelling to her house in Melaka after spending a few days at a relative’s house in Kedah. She was with her husband who was driving, her mother, sister and her three kids. On the way, the kids have to stop for “pee breaks” and food. So they parked their car at one of the rest stop, do their stuff and also give the adults a break.

Ira did not follow her family when they went for their lunch but instead waited for the rest at a partially covered shed near their car. She was with her youngest daughter, Mina who was 4 years old, who was in a bad-tempered and difficult mood…(…manja-lah-spoilt little girl).
