Kingwood Hotel, Sibu – haunted?

Kingwood Hotel, Sibu – haunted?

John Lai stayed three nights at Kingwood Hotel where he faced an eerie and frightening series of events.

Kingwood Hotel is an international 4-star hotel located in the town of Sibu, Sarawak and the only hotel in Sibu that can boast of an idyllic view of the mighty Rejang River.
John Lai is the manager of an IT company in Kuching and he was chosen for a seminar in Sibu, Sarawak. As the seminar was located near to Kingwood Hotel he booked a room for himself for three nights.

After John Lai has checked into the room he found the room dimly lit with the windows covered with heavy curtains. He felt like he was pressed by a heavy pressure on his chest and he was basically extremely unease or uncomfortable. Quickly he opened the closed curtains with the bright sunlight flowing through he slowly felt much better and lighter. Thinking it was just stress he did not think much about the incident.

National Service (NS) Trainees Chilling Incident

National Service (NS) Trainees Chilling Incident

3 NS trainees are horribly spooked when they are lost during the jungle segment of their training.

Recruitment of all 18 years Malaysians, both males and females, are chosen to be in the National Service (NS) after their SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) examination. Those trainees are placed in camps throughout the country for a duration for a length of 3 months.

Zayd, Rashid and Weng are trainees and they have been selected to a Government camp in Sarawak. The three of them were assigned to a forest assignment and were terribly lost. (I have translated their conversation from Bahasa Malaysia to English…as best I can)

“Deep Shit!”, yelled Zayd when they realized that the three of them were absolutely lost somewhere in the jungle. The trainees were not allowed to use their handphones (surrendered to the Camp Commandant) and could not inform their supervisors that there were simply lost. As the sun was setting, it was nearly 6pm, and it was getting dark, they had no choice but look for help.

They decided that the three of them should go individually to go in different directions to look for help and report back in the same place. When Zayd got back first, he saw a very old lady slowly walking  near a thick and leafy footpath. Zayd quickly rushed to the old woman and panting heavily, said that they were lost. He noticed that the old woman seemed to be extremely old, with wrinkles and her face was shrunken with age. However the old woman only looked up at Zayd and smiled. Alamak! thought Zayd when he realized that either the old woman was mad or she doesn’t understand the language.

While this was going on, Rashid came back and muttered to Zayd, “Ayoh! Pretty girl…” Zayd was puzzled and confused about Rashid statement. Before Zayd could say further, Weng came back running saying heard that the trainers had found them…Weng abruptly stopped was shocked and stared at the old lady.

Rural School in Sarawak

Rural School in Sarawak

A rural school in Sarawak gets a nasty shock where they witnessed a flying apparition.

Asyraf tells me of his many happy years during his childhood in Sarawak (the “land of the hornbills”) in the island of Borneo. However he said that Sarawak can sometimes be mysterious and eerie especially in the rural areas.

Asyraf lives with his siblings and his parents in rural area of that state where his father works as a technician for electrical appliances and his mother works as a Government teacher. This is a tale about his mother who was a teacher in the rural school.

On that morning, his mother was walking to her classroom when she noticed that one the female student was busy talking with a group of friends to a  “new student” dressed in a tudung (translation: a scarf worn on the head of a female).

Suicide in Universiti Hostel

Suicide in Universiti Hostel
For Haida living in a local Universiti with the work load from her studies and new course mates was extremely ideal, however she did not expect the hostel was haunted.
Haida was finally accepted to Swinburne University of Technology in Kuching, Sarawak. She was living in the University hostel and she looked forward to the time with her friend, Lila which shares a room with her. However, Lila had to leave temporarily to attend her cousin’s wedding.

Hostel in the University
She was in her room at the hostel at about 1am trying to complete her assignments that was due the next day. Taking a break for her work, she noticed a strong overpowering scent (like perfume) coming from the room. Opening the windows near her bed to get some fresh air, she casually looked look through the cool night air.
Suddenly she saw somebody fall from the window followed by a crashing sound. Temporarily paralyzed with fear she somehow managed to look at the ground floor but there was nobody there. Thinking deep breaths to calm herself and saying it was only her imagination when suddenly she saw the same scene again…someone falling followed by another loud crashing sound…Thud!
Terrified and totally speechless, she again looked at the bottom of her window…and once again there was nothing there except an empty ground. Before she can compose herself, she saw a girl fling herself to her death…and again a loud Thud! sound.
Trembling and shaking with fright, Haida ran from her room to her friends’ place. She hurriedly told her friends what had happened. She absolutely refused to go back to her room but instead spend, with the lights on, in her friends’ room.
They found out from a caretaker, that a couple of years ago a girl after she failed in her exam, climbed and jumped off the roof to her death.
Note: Some people believe that those who have committed suicide will replay their last ghastly scenes over and over again.
