Road To Nowhere

Strange and mysterious journey on the road that leads to nowhere.

Nasri was visiting a favorites aunt at Dungun Hospital alone as his mother and his sister could not make it. After spending the whole day with her, Nasri got in his car to go home. It was dark when he drove along the coastal road to his family home.

As he was driving, he found the radio in his car was not working properly. There were too much static…zzzzz…zzzzz  sound. He got fed up and he turned on the cd player but he got the same static noise. Increasingly frustrated with the radio/cd player which he fiddled around when the heavy rain poured and poured continuously.

He concentrated on his driving as it was not safe to park somewhere along the side of the road and just wait for the rain to stop. He was driving for about an hour before the rain was finally ceasing and the rain was slowing down, he was startled that his cd player was working with the music blaring away.

He looked in the scenery about his car….he was absolutely shock…the car was on the same spot when he first started the journey!

There are countless of ordinary people in their everyday lives who have encountered paranormal or supernatural incidents whether they are called ghosts, hantus or djinns. People who have the “3^rd eyes” (ying yang eyes) who have the ability and can sense the presence of the spirits around them or can even see the afterlife or the undead.  From the numerous haunting of buildings (government buildings, schools and houses) to the shrieking howls of Pontianak at nights and the unexplained and frightening incidents of Genting – do they exist?

The first incident involved the mysterious and the existence of a “doppelganger”. Kang came to the office very early at 5.10am as he had to submit a report to his boss. He walk to his office and turned the lights on and he was surprised to see his colleague, Jageet Singh, at his cubicle at the building. Kang thought that Jageet must be having problems with his house as he was staring at the wall on his chair, seeming lost in thoughts.

Kang was too busy as he got into his assignment for his boss. He got most of his work done and he felt hungry and decided to go for his breakfast at a coffee shop before 8am where everybody starts work. As he was rushing for the elevator, he looked at Jageet at his chair and he decided leave him alone.

Half way eating his ‘roti kosong’ he was surprised to find Jageet happily rushing to work. Kang waved at Jageet to join him and said, “Working so early, having problems with your wife again?” Jageet looked puzzled and said “Huh?... what are you talking about?..I just got in”.

School Toilet Incident

I came to know Natalyn Chai who is a colleague working in the Technical Department. She used to stay at Batu Pahat in Johor with her family before moving to Kuala Lumpur.  This incident occurred when Natalyn was 12 years old when she was in a school in Batu Pahat.

She was having class one day and she was having PE (Physical Education) at the school field. When she realized that she left her purse in the classroom. With the permission of Mrs. Lam (her teacher) she ran to her classroom which was located on the 2^nd floor of the school.

As she was running back to her classmates at the school field she decided that she needed to go to the toilet. On impulse, she decided to the old toilet located on the ground floor near the canteen. Although she has heard from her classmates about the toilet being “unclean” she just brushed it off. She thought it was mere superstition and irrational.

When Natalyn finally arrived at the old toilet the only light was coming from half-glass window panes and the old bulb. The washing basins were closed to the window panes and the cubicles were adjacent to the wash basins. The last cubicle was closed so Natalyn grabbed the 2^nd last cubicle.

She got on the toilet seat and started do her thing. As she was sitting, she started whistling a favourite song when notice the same whistling of the song from the other cubicle. Curious Natalyn then knocked three times and guess what, she heard somewhat knocking three times. A bit angry as she thought someone was playing a prank on her, she climbed on the toilet seat and faced the partition and to look at her.

When Natalyn finally looked between over the partition, she saw a girl sitting on the toilet seat and she was smiling at Natalyn…and it look exactly like her!!!

She freaked out, delirious and hysterical, Natalyn ran from the toilet screaming wildly.

Note : A Doppelganger has been described as a ghostly double of a living person.

Marie works in a restaurant assistant in Genting Highlands. She is presently working the night shift and she goes back to her hostel when the shift is over. Every day seems like a repeat of yesterday and they have to go to the grind of life. At least she got a good job except it is a bit monotonous at times.
